October the 23rd, the new Jewish CD&DVD "
L'dor
Vadór" was presented to the American Ambassador Fay Hartog Levin, at the
opening of the 6th Jewish Cultural Festival, see the picture on the left. The
next day, the DVD was introduced in a sing-along workshop (see the picture on
the right), the audience participating with passion!
This
unique CD&DVD has grown out of the long standing collaboration between the Orion Ensemble, finalist and
prize-winner of the First International Jewish Music Competition, and chazzan Tom Fürstenberg.
The CD contains several traditional Jewish songs. Leonard Leutscher, the gifted
arranger/composer of the Orion Ensemble, has composed exciting new classical arrangements
for well-known Jewish liturgy & songs. The result is astonishing: traditional, recognisable melodies
expanded and enriched by the virtuosity and richness of Orion’s classical piano trio.
Chazzan Tom Fürstenberg has been asked by many people to make a ‘sing-along’ CD. Therefore, the CD
not only provides an opportunity to enjoy new and enriched melodies, but to be able to learn the
melodies as well. The CD contains different versions of the songs, and the set includes a sing-along
DVD as a bonus.
* On the CD, you will find all the songs in two versions:
- The original full versions with a vocalist
- The instrumental versions without a vocalist, which you can use to accompany yourself when
you are comfortable enough to sing without the help of the sing-along DVD
* On the DVD you will find the lyrics in two different versions:
- One written in the original Hebrew characters
- The other is a transcription, the text written out phonetically (the Anglo-Saxon way) in Latin
characters
Both versions can be used to practice the vocal part of the songs. The DVD, like the CD, offers you
the choice between the version with instruments and the vocalist and the instrumental version
without the vocalist.

Op 23 oktober 2010 werd de nieuwe Joodse CD & DVD "L'Dor Vador" gepresenteerd aan de Amerikaanse ambassadeur Fay Hartog Levin, bij de opening van het 6e Joods Cultureel Festival, zie de afbeelding aan de linkerkant. De volgende dag werd de DVD geďntroduceerd in een meezing-workshop (zie foto rechts), het publiek zong mee met passie!
Deze unieke CD&DVD is gegroeid uit de jarenlange samenwerking tussen het Orion Ensemble, finalist en prijswinnaar van de eerste Internationale Joodse Muziek Concours, en chazzan Tom Fürstenberg.
De CD bevat verschillende traditionele Joodse liederen. Leonard Leutscher, de begaafde arrangeur/componist van het Orion Ensemble, componeerde spannende nieuwe klassieke arrangementen voor bekende joodse liturgie & songs. Het resultaat is verbluffend: de traditionele, herkenbare melodieën uitgebreid en verrijkt door de virtuositeit en de rijkdom van Orions klassieke pianotrio.
Chazzan Tom Fürstenberg is door veel mensen gevraagd om een meezing-cd te maken. Daarom biedt deze cd niet alleen een gelegenheid om van nieuwe en verrijkte melodieën genieten, maar tevens om de melodieën te kunnen leren (mee)zingen. De CD bevat verschillende versies van de songs, en er is een een meezing-DVD als bonus.
* Op de CD vindt u alle nummers in twee versies:
- De originele volledige versies met zang
- De instrumentale versies zonder zang, die u kunt gebruiken om uzelf te begeleiden wanneer u vaardig genoeg bent om te zingen zonder de hulp van de meezing dvd
* Op de DVD vindt u de teksten in twee verschillende versies:
- Geschreven in de originele Hebreeuwse letters
- De andere is een transcriptie van de tekst, fonetisch uitgeschreven (de Anglo-Saksische manier) in Latijns schrift
Beide versies kunnen worden gebruikt om de zangpartij van de liedjes te oefenen. De DVD, evenals de cd, biedt u de keuze tussen de versie met instrumenten en de zanger en de instrumentale versie zonder de zanger.
